Join Us in Advancing Sustainable Health Together
Anders Hagfeldt
Chair of SHIP Steering Committee and
Vice-Chancellor at Uppsala University
Dear all,
The challenges our world faces are becoming increasingly complex, interconnected, and urgent. Issues such as climate change, pandemics, conflicts, and health inequities transcend national borders and disciplinary boundaries. These global challenges demand holistic, innovative solutions—and universities hold a pivotal role in addressing them.
As knowledge creators, teachers, and innovators, we have a responsibility to equip our local communities with the tools, insights, and collaborations needed to tackle these pressing issues globally. With this shared purpose in mind, we are proud to launch Sustainable Health in Partnership (SHIP).
SHIP is a joint initiative aimed at strengthening our universities’ collective capacity to improve health and well-being while respecting planetary boundaries. Through SHIP, we aspire to foster transdisciplinary approaches, bridge the gap between research and practice, and create impactful solutions to benefit society as a whole.
Achieving transformational change requires us to rethink and refine our structures, practices, and perspectives. To this end, we are committed to supporting and empowering you—our dedicated researchers, teachers, and students—by providing opportunities to collaborate across disciplines, universities and sectors, by expanding your networks and innovating together.
We invite you to join us on this journey toward transformational change. Together, we can advance knowledge, inspire action, and create sustainable solutions for the betterment of health and well-being worldwide.
We look forward to your active participation in SHIP and the opportunities it will create.
Warm regards,
Anders Hagfeldt
