DESCRIPTION:“Did you know that disruption of natural ecosystems has been linked to most emerging infectious diseases in humans?  This striking fact illustrates why we need integrated approaches that connect human\, animal\, and environmental health. \nJoin us for a dialogue on how One Health can help tackle complex global challenges and contribute to a more sustainable future. \nThis event is hosted by the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU) as part of the SHIP Dialogue Series: “New Perspectives on Sustainable Health.” \nThree speakers will give a broad insight into different aspects of health\, including: \nSharon Hill (Associate professor\, Department of Plant Protection Biology on ecology/epidemiology of malaria mosquitoes)\, \nMichael Bertram (Assistant Professor\, Department of Wildlife\, Fish and Environmental Studies on ecological effects of pharmaceutics in the environment)\, and \nSofia Boqvist (Professor of Veterinary Public Health\, Department of Animal Biosciences\, Bacteriology\, Virology\, Food Safety and Veterinary Public Health on global food security and zoonotic risks). \nTheir presentations will be followed by an engaging panel discussion with partners from other fields and sectors.
